Winner: Shelly Owen

We are delighted to announce that Shelly Owen, the club’s Welfare Office has been presented with the “Committee Award” for October.

Nominators Sarah & Family (pictured)
“Shelly has been a huge help with our safeguarding concerns especially regarding our protected child. It can feel that we are the parents that are always asking for help and asking people to go the extra mile for our child.   Shelly understood our concerns was very knowledgeable, approachable and professional at every stage.

Shelly has put us and our child at ease and contacted everyone involved.  She really deserves to be recognised for her hard work “

A quote from Shelly
“I am truly humbled to of received such award. I just see myself as just doing my role for the club and all that are part of the club. So to be nominated as I was and to be chosen is so heartwarming to be acknowledged and to be seen and felt what I do does make a difference. So thank you so much .”

A tricky month of nominations to pick from;  It was great to see so many people put forward and every entry will be kept on file and go towards any further nominations made in the future.

Well done Shelly, Welfare tends to go un-noticed and we at Higham hold our high standards of welfare in high regard.  Higham is consistently praised by the County FA for how it conducts its safeguarding and welfare standards, for there to be such a hard hitting and important nomination from a parent only demonstrates this further.  Great work….
