Higham Town F.C. expands its operations with new playing surfaces.
Exciting times at Higham Town F.C. with further expansion of our home ground at Lancaster Park, paving the way to additional pitches.
Higham Town Football Club in conjunction with the Duchy of Lancaster have expanded their home ground by adding approximately 22,000 sqm of additional land.
Originally planned for summer 2022, the knock on from COVID, contractor limitations and weather have stretched the overall work into 2023. For the past 12 months work has been ongoing to ensure a flat, stone free and compliant surface ready for seeding.
Over the last 6 months the grass has been flourishing, the roots are strengthening and we will soon be ready for additional rolling and hair cut!
James Sharp Club Chairman says “It has been a long journey with various stops and starts, especially post COVID. It is great to finally see the new land come into shape and will allow us to move forward with our strategic growth.”
Exciting times, providing a fantastic new surface for additional pitches, allowing for further rotation during poor weather and increased training zones in the summer. Further details will follow in the New Year.
